what the heck is a ladder challenge?

WE THOUGHT YOU'D NEVER ASK!

Let's start with the goal in mind: ladders are a fun way to get match play in that works with your constantly changing schedule.  It's a great way to meet new people if you're new to tennis, new to the Dallas area or if you're just looking to expand your tennis-loving friend group!

Similar to local leagues, drills and tournaments, you are pooled with a group of your peers according to your tennis rating. Not sure what that might be? We got you.

How is this different than league play? You play as much, or as little, as you would like, and you agree on the time and place! Flexibly and fun!

The pool you are assigned is  your 'ladder.' This will depend on the rating you are playing in as well as if you are playing Singles and/or Doubles.

There are two ways to issue a challenge:

  • Open Proposal (most common/flexible): a player (or team) will go out to their ladder and issue a challenge to the entire pool with a specific date/time/location for the match. Another player (or team) will accept that challenge and you're off to the races!
  • Direct Challenge: a player (or team) will go out to their ladder and issue a challenge to a specific player (or team) for a specific date/time/location. The other player (or team) will accept or deny the challenge based on their availability.

After the match, the winner will input the score, and the points associated with the match will dictate their movement up or down the ladder.

The more you play, the more points you accumulate and the higher you climb the ladder.
